MONDAY:

The weekly Mah Jongg game will be held at 1:30 pm in the Lounge. If you have any questions about the game, email Melody at melodygabriel@aol.com.

Game Night will be held in the Lounge. Poker game begins at 6:00 pm. Monday night poker will be open to all members on a first-come, first-served basis. More tables will be available if needed. 

The Bridge game starts at 7:00 pm. Contact Judy Allan at 772-713-8040 to play in the bridge game

The winner received $175 last week.  So did the Lodge flooring fund.

Starting at 5:30 pm we will be serving Tacos,Rice,Beans,Nachos and Cheese for $10 while supplies last.  No reservations required
 

Queen of Hearts Raffle Status

At our last raffle on May 1st, envelope #23 was selected which revealed the Eight of Hearts. The Queen is still in hiding, and the jackpot is now...

The stop card for the new game is the 6 of Clubs. If that card is found, the board resets and the jackpot carries over.

Raffle tickets will be on sale until 7:10 pm. The winner will be drawn at 7:15 pm. You don't have to be present to win any of the lesser prizes up to $100, but to win the entire jackpot amount you need to be at the drawing on Wednesday at 7:15 pm.

Unless you don't mind forfeiting
$3,662 for not being present at the raffle, we recommend you be at the Lodge to win the entire jackpot.

IF YOU HAVEN'T PAID YOUR ANNUAL DUES, YOU CAN'T PLAY IN THE QUEEN OF HEARTS RAFFLE

Please don't wait until the last minute to arrive at the Lodge and to make your donation.  The word is out and members of other near-by lodges will be visiting. The Lounge will be crowded

Immediately after the drawing we'll be playing Bar Games.

BINGO sales begin at 4:30 pm and the Early Bird Game starts at 6:30 pm in the Banquet Room.

Starting at 5:30 pm we will be serving our Famous Wings while supplies last. Also Pizza will be on the Menu. No reservations required.

Join us starting at 7:00 pm for Name That Tune presented by Dr. Rock's Organized Chaos.  This is a very popular game that usually fills the Lounge. Free to play.







The Queen of Hearts 2nd Chance Drawing will be held at 8:00 pm. Owners of the entries from Wednesday's raffle must be present to win the $100 consolation prize.
SATURDAY:

We can't wait! We're celebrating Armed Forces Day a week early. Because of a rental in the Hall, this event will be held in the Lounge and is limited to the first 80 paid signups.


If you want to dine with us, we need your paid reservation by close of business on Thursday.

Not dining with us on Saturday? Come anyway and enjoy listening and dancing to a very highly recommended new entertainer to the Lodge: Anthony Marino.





NEXT SUNDAY - MOTHER'S DAY:

You don't want to miss this event on Mother's Day.  Every restaurant in Vero Beach will be jammed. Compare what you get here vs. elsewhere, but it won't be better than Brunch at the Lodge.

This fabulous Brunch is being prepared by Yolanda and other volunteers.  They have to purchase the food products, so please make your plans now. You need to sign up  with your payment No Later Than Friday, close of business. No walk-ins for Brunch. You'll only pay $15 for adults and $5 for Moms and children under 12. It includes tax and credit card processing fees.

Memorialize and Honor Your World War II Family Member

A tribute to those who served during WWII is being constructed on the Veterans Memorial Island Sanctuary. Symbols of your family member's WWII service may be included in a sealed brass shell casing within the memorial's concrete structure. 
You may also include your family member's name on the list of WWII veterans memorialized on the capsule.

Lodge to Hire a Cook. In the meantime...


We are currently in the process of looking for a cook for our Lodge. In the meantime, we need volunteers to cook for events until this can be accomplished.  Please reply to this email if you know of a cook looking for work or you can volunteer to cook until we can hire one

 

Special Membership Call Meeting Results


There was a special general Membership Call Meeting on May 3rd at 4:00 PM for the purpose of voting on the new floor  for the ballroom. The voting was unanimously in favor of installing the new floor. Work will begin in June 2024.

Americanism Essay Contest Winners

Vero Beach Lodge participated in the Elks National Americanism Essay Contest.  The theme this year was: “What the Bill of Rights Means to Me.” The contest starts with the local Lodges, progresses through District and State levels, and ends with the naming of our National Winners July 2024. This contest gives students in four separate grade levels, grades 5-8, the opportunity to thoughtfully, evaluate and express their views on this year's theme.

The Board of Directors has posted a proposed Budget for the coming Elks year on the Secretary’s Bulletin Board in the Lounge. This will be voted on at the May members’ meeting.  Please look over at your convenience

Special Announcement



2024 marks the 75th Anniversary of the Vero Beach Elks Lodge. To honor our Lodge, a series of Gala Events will be held during 2024. A Challenge Coin pictured above, has been created to mark this occasion and they are now on sale for $10 at the Bar and at most events.

Flooring Fund


We replaced the carpet in the Lounge and will be replacing the Banquet Room carpet with  a similar product. We are accepting donations to add to the funds we have raised to support this project.  Please send your donation to the Lodge Secretary and put Flooring Fund in the memo line of the check. Alternatively, you may pay at the Bar via the Lodge Donation key on our POS system.

Rent Our Banquet Hall


The Lodge needs to generate revenue from our Banquet Hall to stay within our budget.  We offer a substantial discount to our Lodge members.  We have competitive rates for non-members for functions such as weddings, meetings, birthday parties etc.

For information about renting our hall please contact our Banquet Manager, Jane Ferguson, at our website.
